Peer reflection meetings

Peer Reflection Group Meetings

These are scheduled meetings with social work colleagues to reflect on each other’s practice experiences and share ideas and exchange ideas and draw on what the research evidence say to shape our reflections with the view to arriving at outcomes that that be applied in our practice to enhance our social work reflective practice.

Workshops for Social Work Students

These are short, focused interactive learning sessions that are designed to teach practical skills, explore specific topics or areas of practice through hands-on activities and group discussions facilitated by an expert. This approach allow Social Work Students to learn through practising and engage in problem solving to gain practical knowledge and skills that will be used to enhance reflective practice. This is purposefully to make learning more concrete and memorable and applicable to reflective practice and enhance the students’ confidence in training in social work. Some of the activities cover academic writing, critical thinking, presentation skills, social work practice skills, and the application of evidence and theory to practice.

Workshop for Social Workers

These are organised and focused interactive sessions designed to hone in on social work practice skills, discuss and reflect on new policy guidance, new developments in social work practice and, carry out hands-on activities on specific areas of practice so as to enhance reflective  practice.

Seminars and Webinars

These are organised interactive group sessions led by a facilitator to discuss specific topics pertaining to social work practice in more depth to explore key issues in practice and ways to address this and enhance practice. This allows for active participation and learning from peers through contributions, asking questions, sharing and exchange of information.

Podcasts

These are social work educational audio recording programmes in the form of interviews, debates, reflective storytelling, small group discussions where Social Workers and Social Work Students explore topics of interest in specific areas of social work practice and research, discuss current events in the social context, share experiences in social work practice to widely educate, inform and engage with social work peers and students.

These are specific on-going training courses designed to improve professional practice skills and competencies by building on existing skills and teaching new skills that are required to enhance practice, to enhance reflective practice skills, to keep up-to-date in Social Work practice, to boost career advancement and professional growth. Our professional development training uses different methods of delivery such as online, in-person and it allows for reflections on learning to prepare training participants to carry out efficient and effective reflective Work practice
