Supporting and Empowering Social Workers and Students Through Learning, Collaboration, and Reflective Practice
About the Hub
The social Workers’ Hub offer capacity building support to Social Workers and Social Work Students by empowering them to make use of Social Work resources to: develop and strengthen their Social Work practice skills and professional helping abilities so as to effectively support Service Users to improve their lives and achieve desirable outcomes.
The Social Workers’ Hub is a place where Social Work: Academics, Educators, Researchers, Students, Service Users, Trainers come together to share and exchange knowledge, information and new developments such as policy and legislation in Social Work Training and Practice.
This hub offers a warm professional space that allows for peer reflections, webinars, workshops, conferences where we support each other to keep developing professionally by enhancing our: reflection skills, reflective practice, cultural competence.
All of which feed into the overarching aim of supporting Service Users to achieve desirable outcomes such as improved social wellbeing, and the alleviation of unforeseen socialcare needs through empowerment to continually access to community services and participate in the community.
Social Workers as agents of change support Service Users to: achieve their hopes and aspirations, improve their lives, transition from one stage to another and in many other ways that words cannot describe. These ways of supporting Service Users means that they give a lot of their professional self and sometimes, their personal self for the greater good of the Service Users they support.
Thus, in the Social Workers’ Hub, we have made it our commitment to contribute to the learning and professional development of our Social Work colleagues and to support Social Work Students to settle well in their training and develop the skills, capabilities and the aptitude for critical reflection and reflective practice. This, we believe, will promote good Social Work practice.
